| Hi, This is my first post here. Please put me right if I appear to need advice! MR 1765 - pictures and short video (21st century): http://www.harryfulcher.co.uk/mr1765.htm I have owned MR 1765 since about 1970. She was previously owned by Brian Hardy. She was called “Twisted”. I crewed in her for Brian at the Thames Sailing club for one season and he subsequently sold it to my family (for me). I have loved this boat with all my heart and soul. From 1972 she was kept in Salcombe where I sailed her every minute that was possible. I moved to Salcombe permanently in 1981 and worked for Edward Hannaford, a local boat builder. During this time I renamed her as “Grace” and gave her the best strip, re-varnish and refit I ever did! She was stored in the garage of my house and she wasn’t sailed again until 2002. Since then she has been loved and cared for but little used. I am now unable to sail her. It is very important to me that my boat will be owned by someone who will love her as much as I have always done. Hull, centreboard and rudder in superb condition. Fresh keel band and slot rubbers. Fresh bouyancy bags. New mast in 1981 Proctor boom (1960’s) Sails by Rockall in fair condition All fresh running and standing rigging and equipment. New launching trolley in 2002 (little used) Trailer (1970) shock absorbers rusted and jammed, otherwise all ok. Not suitable for road use because of the shockers, but could be repaired. |

| Looks like a beautiful boat. Having recently put loads of effort (although limited time) to get my old Enterprise sailing well, I became quite sentimentally attached to her, and initially couldn't bring myself to sell her when I bought the Rocket. After about half a year, I eventually sold her for a token amount to someone else at my club. Last night, I raced against her in my rocket and have no regrets whatsoever - it's great to see her out on the water! |
